diagnosis:

Shrublike plants with stems up to ca. 5 cm and profuse adventitious rooting from nodal regions. Needle-like leaves at base of branches wiht spatulate leaves up to ca. 3 cm wide distally on some branches, needle-like leaves only on others. Phyllotaxis approaching 3/8, 5/13, and 8/21, with traces diverging from pith as single bundle in smaller stems and as double bundle in largest stems. Adventitious root traces not attached to primary xylem of stem or leaf, diverging at nodes distal to leaf trace and proximal to branche trace emission. Leaves hypostomatic with single rows of stomata.

Растения древовидные (или кустарники?). Ветви несут листья спирально расположенные, с широкой пластинкой (типа Nephropsis Zаl.). Листья после опадания оставляют на поверхности коры подковообразные рубцы с несколькими рубчиками выходов проводящих пучков. Стробилы обоеполые, выходящие из пазух листьев и сложенные многочисленными , линейными микроспорофиллами, между которыми помещаются яй цевидно-овальные мегаспорангин. Те и другие расположены на верхушке оси стробила в виде радиально-симметричных розеток или щитков.

Листья ланцетные, обратно-ланцетные, лопатовидные, линейные, иногда слабо асимметричные , цельнокрайние, иногда зубчатые или пильчатые на верхушке ; основание или узкое, черешковидное, или широкое и тогда с каймой, 'л ише н н ой жилок. Жилки прямые или слабо отгибающиеся в стороны, выходят в края с нижней трети листа или раньше. Устьица на верхней поверхности листа отсутствуют, на нижней поверхности собраны в дорзальные желобки.

Pollen cones: Sporangia 1-8 per sporangiophore; pollen without air-bladders.
