Ovulate cones bearing fertile dwarf shoots and their subtending bracts in close spiral around axis; bracts ovate, with a single vascular strand, base decurrent on axis, apex nonbifurcate; dwarf shoot dorsiventrally flattened, as long as and free from bract, bearing a single ovule and 20-50 sterile scale-like elements; sterile elements ovate, borne in spiral arrangement but absent opposite ovule and at apex of dwarf shoot; ovule erect, dorsiventrally flattened, attached at base of dwarf shoot.
