diagnosis: 

Vegetative leafy shoots of penultimate order bear pinnately arranged branches of last order. Leaves lanceolate , mucronate, with two stomatal bands on upper surface and few stomata on lower surface near leaf base. Margin with cuticular microdenticulation or unicellular hairs. Main axis of compound polysperm terminating leafy twig and bearing helically arr anged bracts differing from foliage leaves in large size. Axillary complex dorsiventrally flattened\, its basal sterile scales arranged along lax spiral. Upper part of axillary complex occupied by adaxially placed decurrent hooked seed stalks, and apical and abaxial straight funiculodi a similar to seed stalks in their epidermal structure and occasionally bearing aborted seed scars. Microstrobili elliptical, with numerous helically arranged crowded microsporophylls.
Pollen globose with thin quasi saccus composed by columellar-like sexine and embracing body equatorially and distally.
